Comedy in a Brewery - Mondo - 6th Nov 2018

Hello friends! 6th November sees the latest installment of our itinerant awesomeness that is Comedy in a Brewery. We are delighted to be back at Mondo Brewery Taproom in Battersea. It is easy to get to and their beer is nice.

An outrageous line up comprising:

Chloe Petts

Chloe Petts’ “inexhaustibly funny mind” (Diva Magazine) and “compelling presence” (Steve Bennett, Chortle) has established her as one of the most exciting new acts on the circuit.

Chloe is an alumna of the prestigious Pleasance Comedy Reserve, has been shortlisted for the BBC Comedy Award, was a finalist of Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year Awards 2017 and came runner-up in the Funny Women Awards 2017.

She was recently heard on BBC Five Live’s Fighting Talk and has appeared on Channel 4’s Random Acts and BBC 3 Quickies.

She is a co-founder of The Lol Word, a queer comedy collective that hosts sell-out monthly London nights, boasting the finest female and non-binary queer acts on the circuit. Their most recent Edinburgh run was a sell-out. Diva Magazine has described it as “a space that is demographically queer, inclusive, and safe, and on top of all of that – the comedic talent is smart, insightful, hilarious, and completely relatable.”

PHIL WANG

Phil Wang is one of the UK’s most exciting stand-up comedians and has appeared on shows including Live at the Apollo (BBC2), Have I Got News For You (BBC1), Would I Lie to You? (BBC1), 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown(C4), Roast Battle (Comedy Central), Drunk History (Comedy Central), The Great British Bake Off: Extra Slice (C4), Jack Dee’s Helpdesk (BBC2), is a regular correspondent for Unspun with Matt Forde (DAVE) and will be a regular guest in series 7 of Taskmaster (DAVE). In 2018, Phil recorded a fifteen-minute stand-up special for Netflix as part of The Comedy Lineup, one of only two non-US acts in the series. He has also written and starred in two series of Daphne Sounds Expensive for Radio 4 with his Foster’s Newcomer Award nominated sketch trio, Daphne.

LOU SANDERS

Lou Sanders is one of Britain’s most original comedians. She is the champion of series eight of Taskmaster (DAVE), co-hosts Mel Giedroyc’s Unforgivable (DAVE) and other recent television appearances include The Late Late Show with James Corden (CBS), Live at the Apollo (BBC), QI (BBC2), Travel Man: 48 Hours in… (Channel 4), Would I Lie to You? (C4), 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (Channel 4), Richard Osman’s House of Games (BBC), Hypothetical (DAVE), Aisling Bea’s sitcom This Way Up (C4), Roast Battle (Comedy Central), The Russell Howard Hour (Sky 1), Jon Richardson’s Ultimate Worrier (DAVE) and Karl Pilkington’s sitcom Sick of It (Sky One).

Lou’s 2018 stand-up show Shame Pig received rave reviews, added extra shows at both the Edinburgh Fringe and sold out three separate runs at London’s Soho Theatre. The show subsequently toured and was named a top show to see by publications including The Guardian, The Scotsman, The List, The Mirror and The Evening Standard. Lou returned to Edinburgh with Say Hello To Your New Step-Mummy which again was critically-acclaimed, completely sold out, and is now on Lou’s largest UK tour to date. She has also taken the show to LA and New York and will make her solo debut at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival with it in 2020.
